The Nigerian police has explained why Linda Ikeji’s case against singer Wizkid couldn’t go to court.

The blogger who filed a complaint against Wizkid for threatening her with bodily harm, had earlier said she was doing it so men will have more respect for women in society.

The Starboy honcho who risked going to jail for 7 years for threatening to have his 16-year-old cousin beat up Linda Ikeji, paused his world tour to appear before the police last week.

Though Linda took to her blog to explain how they forged peace at the office of the Lagos state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, the police have said the case couldn’t go to court anymore because they used Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) – a form of justice dispensation that involves dialogue between two or more parties involved in a suit.

According to the Lagos state Police PRO, Dolapo Badmus, Wizkid denied he really wanted to harm Linda and added that his statement about his cousin beating Linda up, was written out of anger.

The police revealed Wizkid’s social media outburst was criminal in nature but the use of ADR has made litigation redundant.

Badmus also said their status in society didn’t influence the case and all parties are satisfied with the outcome of their meeting.
